South American cuisine in Tribeca.

The restaurateurs Matt Abramcyk, Richard Ampudia and Serge Becker have joined forces to open what they call a Latin grill, a sprawling two-story affair that is likely to be a magnet for A-listers hungry to be seen and, by the by, to feast on the chef John Martinez’s take on seafood, tacos and South American grilled meats. Blenders work overtime cranking out the margaritas. — Florence Fabricant

Not inspired by an action hero accountant, more like "super pretty," i.e. the crowds that Matt Abramcyk and Serge Becker routinely attract. Spanish accent carries over to the cooking, with an ex-JGV hand in the kitchen turning out grilled South American barbecue, tangy ceviches, tacos packed with pastrami. Upstairs mix 'n' match Latino looks, with a retro bar. Downstairs lounging amid wood...

Good Food but Mean Hostess

The food is great (and there is little selection for Latin inspired food in Tribeca) so we are willing to put up the slightly high prices. We have been a fan since they opened and eat there about once a week (obviously Tribeca locals). We also order delivery about once a week. But after tonight, we are over the delivery because the hostess was so insulting. Occasionally, they forget one or two...

An unimposing restaurant in Lower Manhattan with a bar downstairs that we did not have an opportunity to visit. The food was excellent, with an emphasis on shrimp and green vegetables. The service was excellent, as well, that is, friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and would certainly eat there again if I were in the...

Great little spot, well designed materials and signage, quick and delicious Mexican food. Tacos are great, tortas are so-so. Only been for lunch - will have to come back to try drinks.

Good food and no rush service

I met a friend here who I had not seen for months so we had lots to catch up on. We started with margaritas, guacamole and empanadas and were chatting away for about an hour. The waitress didn't hassle us to order main dishes. She was pleasant when we were ready. We did order entrees and continued chatting for another few hours. No one rushed us or tried to get us to give up the table. We were...

Went there with a friend for drinks and appetizers. We both had frozen mango margaritas and shared the guacamole and chips, croquettes and mushroom empanadas. Everything was good. The service was attentive and friendly. The place is not upscale, but suitable for a get together. There is a nice bar downstairs that affords privacy. The prices are not bad.

Business description (3)

SUPER LINDA: Latin Grill.

“Gorgeous people” pack this TriBeCan from Matt Abramcyk (ex Beatrice Inn) and Serge Becker (Miss Lily’s), where “flavorful” South American fare comes in “hip” surrounds, including a “sexy” basement lounge; despite predictably “snotty” service, it’s “crazy popular.”
