"Time warps" don't get more "lovable" than this 1977-vintage Villager, an "old-school" source of "no-surprises" Americana that's "solid" but "won't knock your socks off"; though the room's a tad "tattered", "warm" service and "surprisingly good" weekend jazz make this one a keeper.

Not the basketball team, the Dutch dudes with those knee-high pants! A Village classic for ginormous T-bones, strips, and filets. Menu has been updated for the times: penne with Kobe beef Bolognese, ahi tartar with Granny Smith apples. Room oozes fin de siècle character, especially when the excellent live jazz kicks in on weekends. Impressive wine and liquor list, and if it's packed as usual,...

Lively place on a Saturday night with live music. Good food but not cheap. Somewhat surprised to see a music charge on the bill.

Good service, good food and a comfortable place in the neighborhood. The burgers are always good and there's no better place for onion rings.

We had dinner in this quality local steak house. Steaks delicious, a great wine list, and good, old fashioned service.
The biss was quite stiff, but I guess this is Manhattan
