Editorial reviews from the web (1)

Euro-style haven near Soho and Chinatown crossroads. More bang for your buck than Times Square towers. Business travelers invited to sink into pillow-top mattresses dressed in crisp white linens. Tranquil blues to offset blare of taxi cab horns. Mini-fridges for revisiting the night’s Chinese leftovers.

Good budget choice

The hotel is well located in Chinatown with the subway right there. The rooms are very small and there is considerable street noise. No breakfast is provided. Staff were very good and everything was clean. The hotel provides very good value.

Mixed Review

The front desk staff were delightful and friendly. The room was tiny, but adequately equipped, and the bed was very comfortable - and despite being only on the 2nd floor, we didn’t need the earplugs that were supplied “just in case.” But the room wasn’t made up when we came back from a day out. There was a knock on the door at 5:15 and I was asked if we wanted the room cleaned - I said, no, it...

Look elsewhere

The rooms were very small and uncomfortable. The view from the room was awful facing a rundown shop covered in graffiti. It was also located more in China town than Soho the name was very misleading.good value but not worth it will not be staying here again.

Top notch

Yes it's noisy (ear plugs provided), yes it's small (compared to other cities) but rates very high in New York. The space is used well in the room, each uniquely painted with a cool mural and comfortable bed. 24 hour water and coffee at reception. Main thing though; excellent location both for the immediate area, and connection to rest of Manhatten and NYC via Canal Street subway station.

great staff, good rooms, rocking spot (but can be noisy)

I've stayed in a lot of NY hotels, and staying here opened up a whole new part of NYC for me - Chinatown is amazing, little Italy and Nolita run right up against them. Some great bars nearby, and its all a bit NY grunge - so much ,more fin that uptown or midtown. The rooms were a good size, and staff were super attentive and helpful. No iron in the room - but they brought me one up in about 3...

Smack at the intersection of Lafayette and Canal Streets, this downtown Manhattan hotel sits on the boundary between Chinatown and the hip shops and galleries of SoHo.
