Welcome to the wonderful world of Hair of the Dog. Sitting on the corner of Stanton and Orchard in the historic Lower East S...ide, this is where old school watering hole meets big time sports bar. With kitchen and bar open 11:30 am to 4 am every night of the week, we can promise you that Hair of the Dog will not disappoint. At Hair of the Dog, we’re serving up stellar pub grub with drink...
A scruffy, street-level cafe vending pastries and a "cavelike" basement "dive bar" featuring "indie" stage acts make for an "interesting mix" at this "laid-back" LES "ghetto hipster" hub; to sweeten the deal, "prices are fair" considering it's "cooler than you'll ever be."
This oh-so-Ludlow Street place is like a cliché, a place where you can hear live bands, buy old records, drink coffee, wine or beer, and uh, also buy a cake! True, you might not discover the next Blues Traveler here, but it's a great venue for local music and right in the midst of the Ludlow Street scene.
An everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to mass entertainment. Coffee, crate digging, live art rock by your sister's boyfriend's brother, hard liquor, 'zines, throwback jukebox, and, yes, cake (with plenty of options for even militant vegans). Also, Thursday morning kids' reading events where you can bring your young'un and listen to stories while sitting Indian-style in a semicircle....
In the orange-walled street-level cafe, local LES folks sip coffee, flip through the Village Voice and snack on cookies and croissants. Music junkies head to the back room, which houses a...

When this place goes LES will be dead to me. Weird throwback cafe used to be a record store too, basement bar, sort of crappy to see a show at if you're in the back but in a good crappy divey old dirty rock n rolly way. Amazing vegan cakes!!!
Great space for live bands. Intimate setting lends itaelf very well to escaping the city's white noise.
Had a great time there. Lost my sword on Halloween and asked if they found it. They said they'll check but haven't responded. Soooo 3 stars. They never answer their phone when you call too.

This Cake Shop looks like any other cafe from afar but is not your average cake-shop. It is an orange-walled street-level cafe with people conversing over beverages accompanied with creamy pastries and croissants. But below the surface of this cafe lies an exciting secret. Enter the back room which opens up to a music lovers haven. With heavy Indie-rock, alternative and punk along with local...
