Crispy pignoli cookies nod to former doughboys, maple bacon biscuits don't got time for the past. Savories stay sweet: puff pastry leek pizza, grilled-cheese English muffins, slathered in jam. Really great coffee and pastries in a cute little bakery in Soho. The facade of the bakery has been preserved from the previous owners, which adds great character to the soho institution. Definitely try a pretzel croissant - they are amazing!

What a great find as we wandered. On a recent trip to NYC, the hubby and I were wandering around The Village/Soho neighborhoods. Just as I was about to say that we needed to stop for a snack, we happened upon this great little vegan bakery. In my opinion the best chocolate chip cookie anywhere is found right in Manhattan. City Bakery's Birdbath Soho was conveniently located just blocks from our hotel and I could not resist the pull of that cookie in the window!
