A warm and sunny ambiance comes to mind when one thinks of Solera, Mistress of the Sun. While Mistress Solera's influence has inspired our warm and friendly approach, so has our commitment to the artistry of dining and cuisine.

Solera Restaurant & Wine Bar is chef & proprietor Goose Sorensen's poised little gem. Sitting among the slap dashed and super-sized eateries of Denver's East Colfax,...

Inside: Solera

The fact that Chef Christian Sorensen wasn’t present at this particular tasting was a bit of a disappointment. I was excited to meet the man who championed so much of the Denver culinary circuit, spring boarding from such successes as Mel's Bar & Grill, Starfish and several others, to his latest conquest: Solera, a remarkable feat of wine and comfort food sprinkling even more eclectic spice...

In Short
he decor is done in stone and dark reds, and the highbrow cuisine fiends, date-night gourmands and D-town high-rollers keep the place bustling. The menu glows with seasonal...

It's not that the food was bad, and my wife and I aren't too picky, but the menu didn't appeal to us much. Our waiter was great, he knew the menu very well, was enthusiastic (but not overly so), and friendly.

This elegant, upscale restaurant is among the finest dining locations in east Denver, and a showpiece of the Historic Park Hill neighborhood. Their wine list, as befits something calling itself a “wine bar,” is vigorous and detailed, and the resident sommeliers are like professors of the vine, sharing information and their love for wine in a manner that suggests an excited teenager waxing...

This restaurant has won the Award of Excellence presented by the Wine Spectator for the years 2003 and 2004 and not without good reason namely, the food, wine and overall dining experience offered are all truly worthwhile. Try the applewood smoked liberty farms duck breast or the grilled New York strip steak because they come highly recommended. Needless to say, the wine list is outstanding....
