GRK Fresh Greek Restaurant Review

GRK Fresh Greek in the Financial District offers a quick-service approach to Greek cuisine with a focus on high-quality ingredients. There is ample space in the high-ceilinged restaurant to sit and enjoy your meal, though most diners opt for carry out. The menu keeps things simple with a few salads (Greek, lentil or garden salad), sides (potato chips, brown rice with herbs) and "yeeros" made...

Greek mythology has introduced us to many fascinating characters like a god that wields a lightning bolt and a duck gyro. The latter has come to life at GRK, FiDi’s progressive, new yeero (gyro) eatery. Specializing in Mediterranean street food, it’s serving up yeeros with familiar fillings: slabs of chicken, pork, or succulent lamb, as well as some more new fangled options. Stopping by around a holiday could mean a fluffy piece of pita stuffed with turkey or duck. Bonus points for ample seating room, great salads for those on New Year’s diets, and frozen or fresh imported Greek yogurt...

Greek is the one cuisine in New York that tends to be only served in at least semi-upscale establishments. The new entry into the downtown business lunch (and working-late dinner) market is poised to change that. The menu includes several types of yeeros (chicken, pork, or lamb & beef) along with tzatziki Greek yogurt in both savory (scallions, mint, lemon zest) and sweet (strawberries, honey)...

I visited GRK today , around 1:00 PM we were the second customers in the shop , Ordered pork pita for me and my husband . Both pita arrived cold and the pork cuts where not fresh ( gyro must have been preserved from the day before ) and had a rather strange smell . Being Greek myself and having lived in Greece I do know good Gyros . This one was definitely bad .... I would not go again...
