The granddaddy of downtown art galleries combines showing art with publishing and printing.

In shortDowntown's art scene may ebb and flow, but Cirrus Gallery has survived since 1979, when owner Jean Milant moved his Hollywood gallery and print workshop to grimy South Alameda. From his bright-blue building surrounded by a high metal gate and barbed wire, Milant continues to show the work (paintings, installations and performances, sculpture and photography) of contemporary Los Angeles artists.

My wife and I went to the Cirrus Gallery on her insistence. I wouldnt have gone on my own. Anyway, the place just had stark white walls with art work displayed in frames on the walls. I didnt find the pieces on exhibit very interesting but my wife seem to like a few of them. Its not a place I will go to for a second trip.
