Since 1978, Whole Earth Bakery & Kitchen has been serving Alphabet City locals and tourists alike; specializing in authentic organic vegan/vegetarian food in New York City. We offer a large selection of organic natural food products that are wheat, dairy, oil, sugar and gluten free. Our vegan and vegetarian inspired menu includes tasty dishes that range from our Tofu scramble to Vegan Lasagna...

Sorry to say we are closed as of Dec 31 2012. Our bakery and kitchen has served New York City, in the heart of the East Village, since 1991 and was in business since its founding in 1978 in SOHO.

All dishes are made daily.

We love and honor our Mother Earth and respect other living beings.
Our focus is to continue to make savory, fresh, quality vegan and vegetarian baked goods and dishes...

Everything here is delicious. Lots of gluten-free options. Definitely try their juices & smoothies & desserts!! Their chia pudding is the best and the "cheese"cakes are amazing.

The food is good, but will be cold or half warmed unless you specify that you want it really hot.

The best place for bakery food, coffee and for hanging out.Vegan can be great, you don't have to miss the milk, cause there are so many alternatives.Peter S. is a good friend, and the owner.
