This worldwide leader in fashion houses a fine blend of trendy designer and casual wear displayed in a chic and modern store with neatly stacked racks and wooden finished flooring. UNIQLO’s first US store features 36,000 square feet of fashion, located in Manhattan’s chic Soho neighborhood. Designed by renowned architect Masamichi Katamaya, the look and feel blends meticulous organization with a sleek design. The brand’s modern simplicity is complemented by original elements of the space such as exposed brick and massive columns.

The fabric of modern Japan is being woven into the streets of New York! With the autumn opening of UNIQLO's highly anticipated new global flagship store, SoHo will finally get to experience the contemporary Japanese style that has long been missing from this hot, international fashion mecca. Editorial reviews from the web (5)

"Beats the pants" off other fast-fashion chains in true "Japanese style" gush groupies who "stock up" on "fresh-looking" "basics with a stylish twist" at these "bright, neat" megabranches; loyalists "love" the "perfectly stacked" "towers of sweaters", "special" collaborations with unexpected designers like Suno, "excellent boy-girl versions of jeans" and "innovative products like heat-tech"...

The SoHo location is the brand's global flagship, and shoppers will find items here they can't find anywhere else. Seasonal staples like cashmere sweaters and tees in a rainbow of colors are stacked up to the ceiling. The tri-level space bursts with affordable, well-tailored basics. Cashmere crew- and V-necks (most under $100), slim-fit denims, and casual coats share space with edgier tees...

You've seen their cashmere sweaters, you've seen the prices, and chances are, if you've been, you've probably purchased one. NYC Soho store was once the American flagship of the Japanese-based brand (new flagship is in Midtown). Three-story haven where design freaks, fashionistas, and Tokyophiles meet in the middle. Free on-site altering for those jeans that're an inch too long; sometimes sold...

They call this place “the Japanese Gap,” but it may be more comparable to H&M. Here you’ll find hip apparel for men and women at very affordable prices. After a series of “pop-up” stores around the city with Uniqlo’s clothes, in late 2006, Uniqlo opened a 36,000-square-foot, trilevel global flagship in SoHo. The towering rows of shelves are stocked with cashmere sweaters, brightly colored...

From the streets of Harajuku to the cobblestone of Soho, this Japanese import makes looking hip affordable.

It's hard to wander through this store's three expansive floors and not find something that you want. Displayed in a clean, modern space featuring blond wood floors and sleek track lighting is a...

I really love this store, and hope that they can continue to expand without suffering a decline in quality. Uniqlo is basically the best of all possible worlds when it comes to cheap clothing. They have the quality of American Apparel without the unpleasant social aspects. They have the prices of Old …

Listen, these clothes are cheap but so is the service. You're telling me all four of these fitting room attendants couldn't muster the service to open a package so I could try on a shirt in a different color? "Here try this it's the same thing" Um. What? it's two totally different styles and color, I bet in the time spent bickering you could've helped me out and refolded it for me.

Fun Fact

Wondering why the T-shirts seem a little more inspired than the usual corporate designs? That's because they were created by Japanese artists like Yayoi Kusama, Nobuyoshi Araki, Takashi Honma and Osamu Tezuka.
