Many have tried, but Aussie entrepreneur Danae Cappelletto is the first to get past the boards and into Little Charlie’s Clam Bar space. Aging, old school interior no longer recognizable after modernist spruce up. Sleek banquettes, white marble, distressed white bricks. One-time cheftestant Manuel Trevino manning the kitchen, turning out hearty, modern Medi eats. Pig head terrine anyone?
I had dinner here in front window with the doors wide open - great. It is in a charming 'real new york' locale and the service was friendly and courteous. I had the grilled skate special. Very tasty and fresh. The portion size was just right. I will definitely go again.
Sadly, a disappointing experience all round. Firstly we were kept waiting for our table.... felt pretentious more than anything since there were plenty of tables around. Secondly, we had a tasting menu and told our waiter we didn’t eat pork or seafood. After waiting 30mins to receive our first bite, the plate had calamari on it. This obviously got sent back and we waited a further 15mins to...
Love this quaint restaurant!
We did a 5 course pasta tasting with wine and each course was better than the one before. Can't wait to go back to try the main menu. Service was excellent and the owner made a point to say hello and share her vision.
Good food but expensive. Waiter had a bit of an aire at first but got nicer later on. The place seems more interested in being hip. We have enough of those.

The mezzanine is available for private parties and, on some nights, a DJ starts spinning after 10pm, giving the place a clubby feel.
Brunch service begins at 11:30am on Saturdays and Sundays and runs until dinner (around 6-ish). Bypass the usual fare (omelets, French toast) for the Eye of the Bull, a hen's egg placed in the center of grilled bread and topped with red sauce.
Travertine sports a quirky cocktail menu, featuring everything from the Late to the Race (espresso, tequila, Patron Cafe liqueur and vanilla) to the Ubuntu (Canton French Ginger Liqueur, bourbon and cinnamon spice).
