Chef Casey Lane's latest venture, The Parish, is downtown L.A.'s newest hip gastropub. Located in a beautiful flatiron-style building, the food, drink and ambiance are all top notch. On the menu you'll find items such as Bone Marrow with Celery Salad, fried olives and chickpeas, Poutine Fried Oysters, Pork Head Pot Pie, and perhaps their most popular dish, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Craft...

Five0Four Plans to Let The Good Times Roll in New Digs

Joshua Kopel's Five0Four opened five years ago in Hollywood, and now he's ready to fly downtown for a second location, slated to open in October. He takes over the former home to The Parish.

Former Cobras & Matadors and The Morrison chef Michael Ruiz is heading up the kitchen, fueled by his "California interpretation of New Orleans cuisine."

Casey Lane (Tasting Kitchen) is behind this "happening" British-accented gastropub on Downtown's Gallery Row serving "impressive" midpriced fare and house-cured meats, plus a food-friendly beer and cocktail menu; the airy space features exposed ductwork, polished wood and ornate wallpaper.

The Parish In Downtown Closed Abruptly Last Night

A tipster wrote in to say that The Parish was closing, which was hard to believe since the space looked pretty occupied over the past few days. However, the restaurant's staff confirms that last night was the final evening of service for Casey Lane's refined gastropub in Downtown. Above five months ago came news of the downstair's cafe for a wine bar concept by Proprietors, LLC. According to a...

Early Signage at Cooley's, Father's Day Freebies, More!

WEST HOLLYWOOD— Plywood signage is now up for Cooley's, the 10,000 square foot bar from The Abbey owner David Cooley. Depicted over right, Cooley's stands in for Raffi's Jewelry, Bailamos Dance Studio and Unicorn Alley on Santa Monica Boulevard adjacent to The Abbey and will open mid to late 2014. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— Another new bar menu created by Proprietors LLC hits The Parish tonight....

The Parish Shutters Downstairs Cafe for Wine Bar, LA Urban Fitness Cafe to Santa Monica, More!

DOWNTOWN— This is interesting. Chef Casey Lane has shuttered the downstairs cafe at The Parish, with plans to reopen as Parish Wine Bar. Proprietors LLC (O Hotel's Kitchen & Bar) will organize the cocktail and wine menu, a version of which debuts tonight in The Parish's main dining room. Meanwhile, Lane is also changing up his gastropub menu in favor of lighter plates and some pasta additions....

We just ate as the items came. The fried olives and chickpeas were alright. If you are a fan of fried pickles, these will tickle your fancy. The salty,...

Small plates done with gusto. Devolved eggs are fun, fries are definitely fried in fat and ricotta dumplings melt in your mouth. Soundtrack is the only sore spot.

The menu is always changing which is a great thing! Their fried chicken is juicy and tender.

New gastropub concept from Casey Lane. But not your normal, ho-hum gastropub, but more of a fancified version. Think decadent bone marrow, perfectly executed pot pie and some of the best lentils I've ever had. And the cocktail menu is legit too.

This architecturally awesome space houses Chef Casey Lane's newest joint and if you're a fan of the bone luge, be sure to order a shot of sherry with your marrow!

The Parish is a Casey Lane gastropub with amazing beer flight selections and some of the best grub in town. Try the bone marrow and oyster poutine. They're classic pub food with a slightly fancy twist. They also do great ricotta dumplings.
