Editorial reviews from the web (4)

"One step away from buying your fish off the boat", this Chelsea Market staple provides an "overflowing bounty" of "amazingly fresh" seafood, whether it's the eponymous "excellent" lobsters or "just about anything else from the ocean" – and following a recent renovation and expansion, the selection has grown to include an even more "abundant" selection of sushi, soups and other prepared foods,...

Ironically, on an island surrounded by water, finding fresh seafood can be trying. Prices be damned, some New Yorkers just want fresh clams! The Lobster Place has that plus more exotic features like calamari and beautiful lobsters. Eat in or take out, and try the sushi counter.

Stalwart of the Chelsea Market gets a new finish. Retail shop sees separate counters for lobsters fresh or steamed. Long steel counter for fresh fish offerings, or get super-fresh with eight-seat omakase nook. “Shack In The Back” sandwich counter for classic lobster rolls, oyster po’ boys, fish ‘n’ chips. Beer and sake available in-shop, if you’re too casual for proper fine dining next door at...

An emporium of fresh lobster and fish by the pound, as well as prepared sushi, oysters, chowders and wraps.

In Short
Chelsea Market's waterfall provides an aquatic mood at the sprawling seafood store's entrance. Bright cuts of fish laid over ice and surrounded by greens are joined by...

Ordered the lobster picnic box which had a nice size lobster roll, chips, drink, and cookie. The lobster roll was absolutely delicious. Lemonade included was very good. This is a very busy place. You can stand and eat your food there. Staff were friendly.
