The Chatwal is a clear attempt to evoke the feel of the classic hotel of old! The staff are particularly warm, friendly & helpful. Unfortunately, for the price, the rooms are rather small. However, if you must stay around times square, then it's one of your best choices.

We had a special mom and son trip at the Chatwal over the summer. The staff was attentive to him - which was lost on him, but appreciated by mom! Well appointed hotel right in the heart of the theatre district. The hotel is well appointed and has a lovely art deco jazz vibe. Service was very variable with some absent minded servers forgetting things or not knowing what Marmalade is. Also the room card keys demagnetise real easy so we had to get them remagnetised 4 times in 3 days.
