As a family owned funeral home since 1937, it is our goal to provide personal and professional service to the families we serve, before, during and after a loss. The Strunk Funeral Home directors and staff hope to provide every family with services that are sensitive to emotional, religious and financial needs. Whether traditional burial or cremation services are chosen, we will help to plan services that are unique and meaningful to each family. Founded in 1937 by the late H. Allen Strunk, Sr., FD, on Charles Street in Easton, the Strunk Funeral Home moved to its Berwick Street location in 1945. Allen's wife, the late Ruth Heller Strunk, also became a licensed director at this location. Upon Ruth and Allen's retirement, their daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Strunk Plantone and Ronald P. Plantone, FD, took ownership in 1980. In 1984, they acquired the former Katinis Funeral Chapel at 21st and Northampton Streets, Wilson Borough, in order to expand their service to the Easton area community. Ron and Marsha were joined in 1990 by their daughter, Melissa Plantone Recchia, FD, specializing in pre-need funeral arrangements and in 1995 by their daughter, Stephanie Plantone-Hubbard, as aftercare coordinator. Over the years several other professional and support staff have joined the family to help provide services in a caring and compassionate manner.
