Help us make it rightShanghai Cuisine, the no frills Chinese restaurant has a low-key feel and interesting decor; there are posters of Shanghai movie stars from the distant past clinging to the walls. The food is tasty enough to make up for the lack of atmosphere. The shrimp and pork wanton in broth is always heavenly, as are the Soup Dumplings, Moo Shu Pork and Polynesian drinks. Dine on some of Chinatown's tastiest dumplings among a who's who of pre-war Chinese pinups. The restaurant features ...
"Famous in Chinatown" and beyond for their "superior" soup dumplings and other "delightful" Shanghainese dishes, this cash-only spot ups the ante with "small" costs; trade-offs include "typical" service and "not-much-to-look-at" decor.
Widely considered the best Shanghai-style restaurant in New York, Shang Hai Cuisine crosses the finish line against a strong field: just on the same block can be found stalwarts Nice Green Bo, Joe's Shanghai, and 456 Shanghai within a few hundred feet.
