After being shuttered due to a fire, this 24/7 Murray Hill fixture is back, supplying its famous “whopping” pastrami sandwiches and other “quintessential” Jewish “fixes” in updated diner digs with the same framed photos; “decent prices" and the inevitable “food coma” are part of the “classic” experience.

The disappearing Kosher-style deli lives on at this 24-hour restaurant. Sarge's offers fresh-carved, overstuffed sandwiches and rib-sticking platters like the "Sarge's Favorite" with fresh beef brisket over two fried potato pancakes with apple sauce and gravy. Though the menu is rounded out with classic diner fare, deli items are the real draw.
