When in Lexington, make sure to stop by the Children's Museum if you have little ones. It is not very large, but it is full of fun activities. There are even special events like puppet shows to keep the young ones happy. It only takes about two hours, but is located across the street from Triangle Park where you could have a picnic lunch.
Explorium is great for all ages. They are now part of the gallery hop, so you can have some drinks and snacks while learning and playing. The bubble room is so much fun!
Can't wait to go back: There is a new river exhibit, a horse display and the always-favorite "bubble Room." We go several times a year, always with another friend from school or church - the kids love it every time. Especially the on-site artists and craft/science projects.
Not bad for the kids: Yep, that's it: "not bad". I wasn't impressed with anything. I'm sure my two older kids would find a few cool things to do but it seemed like it was a bit dirty and was a bit sparse, especially when you went upstairs. Maybe some new displays?
