Owner Neil Ganic originally opened Petite Crevette in Brooklyn Heights as the casual little sister to La Bouillabaisse in Brooklyn Heights. After being closed for a few years,...
The food was very good but I would not say excellent. The service was excellent . Brooklyn has so many choices fine dining it is hard to separate yourself from all the other great places. The restaurant is very small and some would say intimate. It was slightly noisy. The mustard encrusted salmon was wonderful but the highlight was the...
We have loved dining at this charming, intimate restaurant since the day it opened. The personable chef/owner is always on hand for friendly conversation. The food is delicious. The fish is fresh. There are always wonderful choices. With restaurant wine prices so high these days, the BYOB policy is definitely a plus.
My husband and I were very excited about trying this place because of the reviews. Restaurant was extremely hot cause the place is extremely tight if you are claustrophobic this is not your place, the menus are in the walls written very small and almost impossible to read we have to go online to read it. We had the fried...
This cozy and casual restaurant, in Brooklyn, is one of the best Fish dishes ever.
Is all about the Provencale fish experience, with delicious seafood, whole grilled branzino fish, cioppino with an amazing suculent wine broth to lick your fingers.
And much more divine dishes.
Try the famous fried oysters with the spicy mustard dash on the side.
Best of...
Why? Besides the excellent food, BYOB! It's easy to overlook just how much a decent bottle of wine purchased at restaurant prices can empty your wallet. I'm particular about my wines so I have my own small "cellar". Being able to bring a bottle or two to a restaurant can save me fifty bucks or more off the tab.
I've...

"Lots of interesting and delicious choices" of "excellent fish the French way" are on the oft-changing menu at this Carroll Gardens seafooder; it's a "quirky" little "closet" with "lots of character", plus the owner is a "hoot", there's "rarely a wait during the week" and "BYO makes it economical" – just remember to "bring cash."
Since shuttering his doors in 2005, Neil Ganic has been busy reopening this gem of a restaurant in a blink-and-you-miss-it Red Hook location. Try not to let the exhaust fumes from the adjoining BQE deter you: once inside, sample one of many savory seafood dishes (the scallops and soft-shell crab come highly recommended). The ambience is cozy, romantic and laidback, but don't count on...
Customers who step into tiny Petite Crevette to order soupe de poisson and whole branzino and uncork their own bottle (BYOB $5 charge) might think they are in Provence for a moment. Petite Crevette offers a taste of France steps from the churning BQE. The eccentric restaurant is unavoidably intimate, so you just might get to know your tablemates.
Know Before You Go: Petite Crevette is cash-only for now, so be sure to stop at an ATM on the way.
The Extras: Visit Bouillabaisse 126 just around the corner.
BYOB: If you're walking from the F or G train, pick up wine at Smith and Vine, which has many great bottles for under $10. There is a $5 corkage fee.
