Editorial reviews from the web (2)

Hookahs, hieroglyphics, belly dancers, sateen throw pillows, and sophisticated drunk fare from a student of Jean-Georges. Mashed-up vibe can't decide if it's Moroccan or Egyptian. Kitchen's serving sushi, if that helps clarify anything. Inhale carefully, broken hookahs carry a $75 fine. Multiethnic crowd getting slightly hipper of late, though most still have that faux posh sheen. Oh well, at...

Ancient Egypt and modern SoHo meld into a heiroglyphed hookah and martini lounge.

In Short

I was there with my friend for the first time and we found out that at this place they have good food-sushi is amazing, hookers (a lot of favours), DJ plays every night,
beside there are two floors! We like it a lot! It was a lot of fun!

Nice place and a yummy SUSHI menu that’s available all night.

Forget walking—drink and smoke like an Egyptian at Moomia. A two-floor hookah lounge, Moomia gives you the King Tut treatment with waitresses in navel-baring ensembles, Bollywood-to-bachata beats, and a yummy SUSHI menu that’s available all night. Hieroglyphic-covered walls, patterned tile floors, and the dim mosaic lanterns make you feel like you’re partying in a pyramid. Roomy and...

The North African decor is terrific with enough comfortable sofas and seats to easily accomodate larger crowds.

Business description (2)

Moomia Lounge can be found at Lafayette St 157. The following is offered: Dancers. The entry is present with us since Sep 9, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 14, 2013. In New York there are 15 other Dancers. An overview can be found here.

A restaurant and nightclub decorated to the nines in Egyptian kitsch with dance music and, on the menu, almost thirty types of martinis, Japanese food, and seventeen flavors of tobacco for hookah consumption sounds like a mess, right? Well, yes, but messes can be fun, and Moomia is definitely fun. It's one of the only places in New York where you might find yourself asking at 2a why on earth...
