Meurice USED to be recommended by Bergdorf's and other high-end retailers; now they all stick to Mme. Paulette. The University Place location staff has a poor attitude, and sloppy result; ex: a brand new garment, brought in for alterations with tags still on it was handed back to me with a black grease stain on it that hadn't been there before. The tights were ripped when I took then out of the package and they refused to exchange them. Over priced and cheap quality. Never buying tights there again.

The head tailor there, Kawser, has been my tailor for 8 years in New York. His work is excellent (and I get a lot of items tailored). He and his niece have become personal friends of mine over the years. I cannot speak to the cleaning services at Maurice; however, if you need a GREAT tailor, I would recommend going there.
