Our walking tours visit many of the coolest sights in New York, discuss some of the most interesting people who have ever lived here and teach you what makes New York extraordinary. All walks cost $20 per person. No reservations needed. Just show up at the meeting point any day but Tuesday.

We took the Wall Street & Ground Zero walking tour on our last trip to New York and loved it. Our guide was really funny and showed us tons of hot spots, including the financial district and City Hall. I was worried about lots of walking, but it wasn't long at all and the tour seemed to fly by. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.
Of all the things we did during a weekend of tourist stuff that you never do if you live near the city, these walking tours were easily the best. We planned to do one tour. We ended up doing three in two days. Every walk is a great mix of stuff. You get stories about the major sights that everyone knows and anonymous looking buildings that you’ve passed for decades without ever noticing. Having a guide opens your eyes to how much cool stuff has really happened here.
Really excellent guided walks. (I should know. I've done many.)
They use a bunch of funny stories to tell you how things got to be the way they are. You'll learn about philandering architects and crooked politicians and crazy Europeans who believed beaver oil could cure disease. (Don't scoff. New York wouldn't exist without the beaver trade.)
It's sort of like going on a walk with the author Bill Bryson, which is about the highest compliment that I can offer.
One more plus: You don't have to reserve in advance. Just read the schedule and turn up.
