The Scene
This falafel spot is the first New York location of a European chain, but it won't be the last if the long lines of lunching nine to fivers are any indication. The decor is right out of '60s sci-fi: A spacey green and… Read More

"Quick and easy" is the word on this Mideastern-vegetarian franchise where the falafel is "respectable", the tabs "economical" and the salads customizable at a "self-serve topping bar"; little decor and service lead many to reserve it "strictly for takeout."

All the positive reviews have said exactly what crossed my mind when I think of Maoz. Fresh, filling and delicious. My mouth is watering as I type this review. Too bad I am currently 3,000 miles...

Tips about this business (8) view all

If you're skimping on carbs, you can skip the pita and fill a large salad box for $7.95 (includes juice).

Soda is available and if you don't mind your beverage at room temperature, try the fresh-squeezed apple, orange and carrot juice ($3).

Pita comes in white or whole wheat, although the white is fluffier and tastes better with the falafel.

In true fast food fashion, combo meals are available: The $7.75 meal deal gets you a sandwich with all the trimmings, fries and a soft drink (or juice for an extra dollar).

The Extras: If you're skimping on carbs, you can skip the pita and fill a large salad box for $7.95 (includes juice).
