Information about this business (2)

Every room in Lafayette House has a working fireplace, giving it an authentically Victorian feel. You can catch a glimpse of Merchant House Museum from the hotel and you can shop all night as the main shopping area is within walking distance from the hotel. The interiors of the hotel rooms are decked out in rich fabrics and wallpaper; the rooms look more like apartments then a hotel room. Relax...

Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode have had plenty of time to eye the tidy little rowhouse next door to B Bar, which they've now converted into the chic man's B & B. They ain't cooking you breakfast, however—there's in-room kitchenettes for that. Fifteen romantic and intimate spaces, with chandeliers, working fireplaces, antique furniture, long red drapes. Modern requisites, too, like wifi, DVD...

New York luxury hotels often fail to deliver the greatest of New York luxuries: downtime. Lobbies can feel so sceney you need a stylist, and restaurants so exclusive even guests can't score tables. Enter the Lafayette House. The East Village hotel has no lobby, no bar, no restaurant. Check-in consists of being buzzed in and taken directly to your room (likely the most interaction you'll have...

Like Staying In Your Own Historic Brownstone

Where I come from we don't have brownstones so to come to New York to visit my daughter for 5 nights and to stay in an historic brownstone with my own set of front door keys was really exciting! What makes the Lafayette House even better, though, is that the interiors were designed by hotelier Sean MacPherson. I am a...

Unforgettable Stay

I loved everything about this place. It felt like staying at someone's (fabulous) home, yet you get the basics of a hotel (attentive staff, room service, daily cleaning etc). Just minus a lobby and loiterers (who needs that?). The room was so elegant, homey and spacious. I will stay here again !
