I called A1 for a taxi ride and they told me a car would arrive in 10-15 min. After 25min, I called back and was told that the car was nearby and that they were very busy. After 35min I called back again and was again told that they would be there soon, and that they were very busy when we first called. I feel like if they knew they were very busy they should have included that in their time estimate. After 45min I called back again and asked if they could comp the ($5) cost of the ride since they had so grossly misquoted me. The person on the phone responded that if they did that, then they would be giving everyone free rides. What exactly does it say about their business if they're telling me that they would be giving everyone free rides if they comped rides where the cab didn't show up until more than half an hour after they said it would? I was running a little late, which is why I wanted to get a cab instead of walking 20min to the PATH. If they had quoted me correctly, I would have walked. It makes me feel like they're intentionally misquoting people to get more business. I was so late for my dinner reservation that I had to take another cab after getting into the city.
