Explorium of Lexington is a fun and dynamic lands-on learning environment that inspires imagination and curiosity.
I have to be completely honest. We've been to a lot of children's museums and this one was probably one of the worst. It does have a horse or two to make it unique to Kentucky, but the water table didn't even have water in all of it, and portions of the exhibits were missing things or not cleaned up....
The Explorium is a nice thing to have in Lexington. We took our toddler there, and she had fun. Most of the exhibits are geared for ages 5-10, from what I could observe. The museum is slightly threadbare, and some of the features didn't seem to be working. Still, nice that it is in Downtown Lexington.
Compared to other cities it is pretty lack luster, but kids always seem to have fun. Exhibits for toddlers always seem grimy which is expected but some things seem a bit dated. Could update a couple new exhibits.
This is such a good learning place for all kids. There are exhibits for younger ones as well as older kids. My 3 year old grandson had a great time in the bubble room!
It's ok but not worth going back to; went with hubby and boys and had fun but after visiting a few other children's museums and play places outside of Lexington and Kentucky, it's not worth the money and time to go back here.

This child-oriented museum features educational hand-on exhibits from Tuesday to Sunday. Summer camps, workshops and field trips are offered as well. Admission is $5.
Marked by a bright yellow awning and a boldly painted exterior, this children's museum is a fantastic place for young ones to explore. Its array of interactive exhibits teaches while it entertains, and it offers kids a better understanding of the world around them. Among the entities visitors can examine are light, space travel, dinosaurs, the body, nature, medicine, physical science, and...
Explorium offers adventures in fun and learning with nine discovery zones filled with interactive exhibits. Explorium is one of the oldest children's museums in the United States.
