Del Posto can best be described as trans-generational: an expression of the evolution of cuisines,...

With high ceilings, a striking central staircase and opulent columns, Del Posto’s distinctive coolness seems equally at home on the edge of the Meatpacking District or in Vegas. And this posturing is backed up by the epicurean muscle of all-star trio Mario Batali, Joseph Bastianich and Lidia Bastianich. The menu caters to lovers of experimental Italian cuisine and those in search of a...

Del Posto Restaurant Review

When restaurant composers Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich collaborated on Del Posto, it made previous partnerships such as Lupa, Otto and Babbo seem like mere overtures to this operatic palazzo of Italian gastronomy. A sweeping marble staircase dominates the sprawling, bi-level space, also marked by terrazzo floors, wrought-iron balconies, and the tinkling of live piano music. The menu reads...

Mario Batali Plans New Restaurant in the Maritime Hotel

Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich have just signed the deal to take over the entire food and beverage program at Sean MacPherson's Maritime Hotel. That means La Bottega is done, and the heavy-hitting duo plan to replace it, as well as the lobby bar and the hotel's cabanas, with a new restaurant focused on the food of the "Italian coasts and islands." Not counting the Italian food megaplex that is...

Brooks Headley's White Hot Veggie Burger Pop-Up is Back

Just as he hinted, Brooks Headley is bringing back his insanely popular veggie burger pop-up, Superiority Burger, next weekend. This time the Del Posto pastry chef will be flipping his vegetarian patties at, of all places, The Cannibal. Last time there were Old Bay potatoes and a "butterscotch thing" for dessert. This time he promises "DUH greenmarket salad, and some ok dessert." Plus, there's...

New Yorkers Are Now Lining Up For Veggie Burgers

Here's a look at the scene on Eldridge Street at around 5 p.m. yesterday, as people lined up around the corner to get their hands on a veggie burger. Not a Cronut, not a bagel, not a ramen burger or a special cheffy Shack burger, a veggie burger. It was, however, a veggie burger made by Del Posto pastry chef Brooks Headley, for a one night-only pop-up at the now-shuttered Family Recipe. With...

Mark Ladner Launches the Pasta Flyer Kickstarter Today

[A rendering of the Pasta Flyer pop-up: Kickstarter]
Mark Ladner's Kickstarter for Pasta Flyer, his quick-service, gluten-free restaurant project is now live. The campaign outlines Ladner's plans for the project in thorough detail, from specific dishes (which include salads and snacks as well as pasta) to a working timeline. The Kickstarter has a goal of $85,000, but 5 percent of that will be...

The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was romantic. The food wasn't served, it was presented. The chef prepared a special vegetarian tasting for me and the regular tasting for my husband. Worth every penny.

Del Posto was amazing!!! My wife and I were visiting New York for the weekend and wanted to have a nice dinner. We both agree that Del Posto was one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed! Great wine, huge bar selection, amazing staff and the food was off the charts! We both enjoyed the 5 course menu. It was more than enough food and we both left pleasantly full without feeling like we were...

This is a great place for a special occasion. The food is fantastic. It is very romantic. The staff is attentive and very helpful. The tasting menu is the way to go, and the 5 course one is plenty! It is pricey, so I recommend this for a special reason.

We had been wanting to try Del Posto for a long time, so much so that we took a 5:30PM reservation on a Sunday. We were not disappointed.

All 5 stars, had the Captain's menu with wine pairings; excellent fish, scampi, octopus, burnt ribeye; 8 course is the way to go; lots of tastes and great value. The menu is on IPad but I would prefer paper?Old school as that goes...maybe paper is available on request.

Business description (7) view all

Del Posto is the richest and most refined creation of Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich and Executive Chef Melissa Rodriguez. In October of 2010, Del Posto received a glowing four-star review from The New York Times, the first Italian restaurant to do so in nearly 40 years. At Del Posto, the ambiance of European luxury, palate-enlightening cuisine, polished service, and a world-renowned wine...

Del Posto is the first Italian restaurant in almost 40 years to be awarded 4 stars from the New York Times. We can best be described as an evolution of cuisines, menus, service, and ambiance that have characterized the history of the Italian dining experience in this country.
Parties of 5 or larger have the choice of either the 5 course Il Menu Del Posto or an 8 course Captain's menu. A la...

Del Posto is the ultimate expression of what an Italian restaurant should be. Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali represent a convergence of different styles and experiences. The restaurant concept generated at Del Posto can best be described as trans-generational: an expression of the evolution of cuisines, menus, service and ambiance that have characterized the history of the...

Clicquot Inc can be found at 10th Ave 85. The following is offered: Marketing Agencies. The entry is present with us since Sep 8, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 12, 2013. In New York there are 1011 other Marketing Agencies. An overview can be found here.

Diners should be aware there is not an a la carte menu for parties of 5 and larger. A 5 course Il Menu Del Posto and an 8 course Captain's menu are available for these parties. Del Posto respectfully requests that gentlemen refrain from wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, and baseball caps. Most men choose to wear jackets, but jackets are not required. --Del Posto is the first Italian...

The Extras: A bar menu is served in the lounge only, and not at the bar itself.

Where to Sit: An upper balcony gives parties of six a bird's-eye-view.

What to Drink: Bartenders take their time with classic cocktails and only work from the best ingredients. The lengthy wine list can get quite pricey, but it's possible to choose from the Super Tuscans section and stay around $50 a bottle.

Know Before You Go: The tasting menu is $120 and requires the entire table's participation.
