Help us make it rightRecreating the charm of the West in sunny San Diego, Cowboy Star Restaurant is a unique restaurant with an attached butcher's shop, no less. The decor and atmosphere of the place is out of one of the Westerns that rocked Hollywood few decades ago. Patrons are afforded the view of a live kitchen that dishes out brilliant preparations one after the other. The menu offers a large choice of meats...

New steakhouse, Meyer Natural Angus, and butcher shop in East Village. High-end cowboy sans Bonanza-style kitsch. Porterhouse for two is a meat-lover's dream, and bison burgers (with roasted Anaheim peppers and toasted cumin mayo) are unbeatable for the lunch hour. Wash it down with absinthe and bourbon at the bar.
This restaurant and butcher shop celebrates the Old West as seen through the squint of a celluloid cowboy. It's an unabashed homage to the Hollywood westerns of the 1930s and 1940s, combined with an unstinting commitment to the finest products available. Specializing in dry-aged meats and game fowl, all products come from sustainable sources; everything is organic, hormone-free, grass-fed, or...
In Short
In addition to the kind of cowboy-sized portions of bone-in rib-eye that you could only find east of Highway 67 (until now), Cowboy Star also brings what they call the ""romance...
I love this place. My bf and I had our first date here. I've been with him for 4 years now. We are expecting at the moment with a baby boy. Every time we go we think of the first time we went and how we are now starting a family. I can't wait to go with our son when he's born and when he gets older.
Thank you Cowboy Star staff for another great meal.
Amazing food, great staff, most definitely recommend.
Service was very mediocre, but food was excellent and the decor is really neat.
What an Outstanding Restaurant. My wife and I loved everything. From them wishing us a Happy Aniversary to the Cocktails, appetizers, steaks, sides and deserts. What an Awesome place for any occasion to celebrate. Thank you Cowboy Star.

"San Diego's only contemporary American restaurant, bar, and butcher shop that celebrates the simplicity and romance of the Old West."
Sure, it's a Western-themed bar/restaurant, but it's also perched amid the hipster haven corner of 10th and Market. Dirty wranglers will definitely stand out (and not in a good way). Cute jeans, cute shoes, ladies, and you're set.
Parking is tough on Tenth Ave. Turn right on Market street, then left on 7th Ave where you'll find both a small pay lot and the entrance to mega-garage "Park it on Market."
Local star chef Victor Jimenez (of JRDN, Bar West, among others) is at the helm of the kitchen.
Make a reservation for dinner for sure, but just pull up a stool at the bar if you're just staying for a drink.
