Established in 1927, Caffe Reggio has been serving cappuccino, food, italian wines and beers, and desserts for almost a century in the heart of Greenwich Village.
"Home of the original cappuccino" since 1927, Caffe Reggio is an effective Italian cafe in Greenwich Village, serving celebrities and passersby alike. Reggio succeeds where so many European-style cafes fail because it feels unconcerned with the opinions of others—not in terms of service, not by a long shot—it is simply resolutely itself, and that attitude gives the place an intoxicating vibe...
This charming Greenwich Village landmark has been serving coffee, pastries and inexpensive meals to the bohemian crowd since 1927. In addition to the fine cappuccino, the espresso they claim to have “introduced to America,” and the decadent hot chocolate, the menu features "light" options such as Italian pastries plus heartier fare like a tomato-basil panino or an omelet filled with ricotta and...
Shut your eyes hard and picture a Village café and this is what you'll get. Cast in both Godfather II and Shaft. Claims to have intro'ed cappuccino to America and serves possibly the greatest frothy cup this side of the Atlantic. Opera for the ears, Caravaggio knockoffs for the eyes. Pastries and panini for the mouth. Loopy laptop ban forces literati (who have included Kerouac and Burroughs) to...
In Short
The quaint Italian coffee shop opened in 1927 and has been serving its famous cappuccino ever since. Interior details like Old World art create an atmosphere that attracts a mix...
Old world European charm right in nyc.. Who would have thought! Justifiably famed for its cappuccino, this is also a really good place to have light snacks if you are peckish and want to avoid the usual.
Great brunch. Then only negative was that our reservation was for 8;34 am but it doesn't open until 9:00 am.
This place looked promising for a brunch meeting with a friend who is a graduate student at NYU, but it was very disappointing. The local diner has better food. The atmosphere was appropriately Bohemoian for the Village and the server was trying hard, but you can do better than this spot.
Unfortunately, cannot recommend their cappuccino (though apparently they're the first in the city to serve it). It was very watered down, insipid, and lukewarm. Inside is charming though,...
Very nice cool atmosphere.clean , fast services.outside sitting available. I will definitely come back...!
