Ricky Ricardo woulda loved this place. When I was growing up, the Ricky Ricardo character on "I Love Lucy" was how I envisioned Cubans, especially the ones in NYC. Later in life, I spent a lot of time in Miami, where I developed an appreciation for Cuban food. Cafecito could hold its own on Calle Ocho with the quality of its cuisine. Plus the service is nice -- they don't act hostile if you're...
Cafecito is a casual, Cuban spot with some hearty, homey Cuban food and friendly service. We got there before 7, and the drinks were half price, which my husband appreciated. The mango margaritas were pretty tasty, especially with a little dash of jalapeno hot sauce from the table. We tried the fried shrimp, fried calamari and papa relleno for apps. All were nicely prepared, crispy and tasty,...

Food was delicious, 2nd time I've been there & was not disappointed. Good portions & service was good. Prices were reasonable. No complaints, will go again soon.
Cafecito is a cool and casual place that won't wow you with flavor but it's more than fairly priced and definitely consistent. While it's not a destination haunt it is by all means a good place to have a nice meal with friends if you are in the area. The staff is really friendly and inviting which makes Cafecito a place worth coming back to for a laid back affair.

Neighborhood families and easygoing downtowners converge at this small Loisaida restaurant for the festive surroundings as much as for the Cuban food. Soon after the place opened in 2003, it became a neighborhood fixture. The success can be attributed to the fact that the establishment serves drinkers and diners with equal zeal. Comprised of what was once two tiny, separate storefronts,...
Offering "authentic" Cuban chow via "fast" staffers, this "leisurely" East Villager is a "haven for Miami expats" hankering for a "real Cubano atmosphere"; the "downscale" space plays "second fiddle to the food", but the service is "fast" and the tabs "reasonable."
