Help us make it rightGo here for: gelato, ice cream lover, pizza pace, I tasted plenty of peach, taste sensation
Located under the Brooklyn Bridge in an old 1920's fire-boat house, the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory has been serving high quality ice cream with the freshest natural ingredients since 2001. Although limited to eight classic ice cream flavors, it's some of the best ice cream in NYC (especially the vanilla with chocolate chunks!) The syrup and toppings are as good as the ice cream, not surprising...
"Super-creamy" scoops served by "friendly" folks fill the "old-fashioned" bill at this popular Brooklyn ice cream parlor pair; the Dumbo "waterfront" flagship boasts an "unbeatable" skyline view, so "huge lines in good weather" come with the "touristy" territory. P.S. temporarily closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy.
Take your old-fashioned cone from this fireboat house turned ice cream parlor and meander along the wooden-plank promenade that offers Manhattan views. Linger over the homemade toppings, especially the Cluizel dark chocolate handcrafted hot-fudge, before you just dive into that all-natural creamy goodness. If you make it past the sugar rush, take a walk across the nearby Brooklyn Bridge.
The Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory offers simple, all-natural ice cream and hand-concocted toppings. Their small-batch production system allows for intense quality and flavor control, and while the original Greenpoint location started the craze that led to the second outpost under the Brooklyn Bridge, it's that second location that offers the most sweeping views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge...
In Short
Brooklynites line up out the door of this Fulton Ferry Fire Boat House, then take their cups and cones out on the pier for a glimpse of the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan skyline and...
The ice cream here is delicious, so creamy. The service was good - there were lots of people working so no one had to wait. I would definitely recommend taking the ice cream outside to eat though - we sat inside as it wasn’t that...
The ice cream was delicious but I thought it was very overpriced, even for a big city. As other reviewers pointed out, there’s very little space inside and even less seating. It was raining and cold when we visited so having ice cream seemed a...
Enjoyed the ice cream (coffee), but pricing a bit high and the place is very small inside, so you'll have to be lucky to get a small table. Still worth a visit in you're in the area
This is a positive review however, with the name 'Brooklyn Ice cream Factory' I was expecting a little more in terms of the size of the building as it's actually quite small inside but maybe that's my fault.
Plenty of flavour choices/cones, tasty ice cream...
Beautiful day at the waterside. Interesting range of ice cream flavours, eg Vanilla Cherry, Choc chunk vanilla. I had a double scoop of peanut caramel and double choc chunk. All delicious but slightly disappointed that not served in a waffle cone. Very good value for...

The original location, in a landmark fireboat house on the Fulton Ferry Pier, features one of most sweeping views in America, the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan skyline & Statue of Liberty. When we could not make enough ice cream to meet the demand at our original location, the Greenpoint, Brooklyn factory was opened in 2007. While the quality of our ingredients and the labor involved in this...
Ice cream is the new health food
Located under the Brooklyn Bridge in an old 1920's fire-boat house, the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory has been serving high quality ice cream with the freshest natural ingredients since 2001. Although limited to eight classic ice cream flavors, it's some of the best non-chain ice cream in NYC (especially the vanilla with chocolate chunks!) The syrup and toppings are as good as the ice cream, not...
