Not the place for me

Average Rating
20

I hate to sound like an old man, but if I were 18 and wanting to get drunk as cheaply as possible, this would be the place for me. Now that I have a little bit of money and want to relax, sit at a table, enjoy a solid meal and not worry the entire time about my personal safety, I never step a foot in this place. Any place that needs multiple bouncers is not a place I want to be.

Top Notch for Ranger Fans

Average Rating

As a Rangers season ticket holder, I always make sure to stop in at the Stone for a pre-or post game bite or sip. Friendly, efficient service, killer sandwiches and reasonable prices make this place the site to see and be seen if you're a Blueshirt Backer!

I had to laugh -- I am certain that most of the reviews here that mention food or stopping in for an after-theater drink (!!!) are for the Blarney Stone at 410 8th Avenue which is a Blarney Stone only in name (and great surviving neon sign), with typical fried food and lots of TVs. Or maybe the Blarney Rock on 33rd. THIS 9th Avenue Blarney Stone is a nice old sleazy bar. I did not see any food...

Treacy and Caroline are a perfect tag team behind the bar and the food can't be beat for the price - always crowded with people eating there or taking their food to go - forget the decor - it's the food that makes it worth the wait!

Tucked away in a busy bustling area of midtown..very basic but very good value for the meal. The portions kept us stuffed for a great night out.. The crowd includes everyday ppl.. looking for a place to just lay back and rest assure they will be well fed. Try the fish and chips!

“People of all races, creeds and clothing styles” frequent these “working-man” Irish dives, though they’re renowned as a haven for ultra-“serious drinkers” drawn in by their “steam-table-and-cheap-brewskis formula”; like “Cheers gone wrong”, they’re “dark, dreary” and a “place where no one will ever find you.”
