Horrible Management Company

By far the worst management company I have ever had to deal with in New York-- and that's difficult to say in a city full of cheap and neglectful managers. Atias does not keep up its properties and does the bare minimum of maintenance. I have gotten locked in my apartment twice, and the last time it took over an hour for the super to even reach my door to try to fix the doorknob. This is not the super's fault, however-- the management company does not pay him enough to fix things around the building and wouldn't pay for a cab to get him back to the building faster. This is just one of the many examples of the manager's neglectfulness. The building is also dirty, dusty and unkempt, and the management has actively discriminated in the past against new rental applicants who are immigrants.

I currently live in an Atias owned/managed building at 134 Haven Avenue in Washington Heights. We live in one of the A apartments in the building. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Terrible management company that does not maintain its properties at all. Completely ignores requests. Does not repair serious security and health hazards. Mass exodus from the building on 52nd street.
