This building is maintained by the Smithsonian. Shows the talents of the early settlers of NYC.
This museum has a wide variety of native american clothing, art, and history on display. The guides there are very knowledgable and are happy to answer any question. There are also special events held on weekends where you can make a craft, ie friendship bracelets, or learn a skill the native americans used, ie playing drums.
The National Museum of the American Indian is part of the tri-museum series in New York, Maryland and Washington, DC. I been to the one in DC and NY and they are both great.
