I cannot speak for the quality of the plants that this place has, as my experience of making a basic query was such that I decided that I would not want to give any money to this place.
The woman who answered the phone was snappy and rude and unable to provide answers to the simplest questions without attitude. I wasted five minutes trying to find out from this abrupt woman if they had in stock what I was looking for and the price range. Finally, a man took the phone and actually answered my two simple questions with simple answers: yes they carry them and gave the price range. Simple....
I have been a long-time customer of the the Alpine Nursery & Garden Center, and I have ALWAYS been a very satisfied customer! Alan, the owner and proprietor, provides expert recommendations regarding my gardening questions and concerns. I have consistently shared my positive experiences with my friends and neighbors promising them an enjoyable and worthwhile experience at the Alpine Nursery. My garden is absolutely beautiful and I have Alan and his wonderful staff to thank! I can always depend on Alan for the correct gardening advice!
I went to Alpine very late on a Saturday afternoon, ten minutes before closing as a matter of fact, (due to detour on my way-I actually travel about 1/2 hour from home to go there). Even though I was so late I can't tell you how helpful and patient the "garden-guy" was. I was there to pick out roses to plant for my elderly neighbor and a few accompanying plants to fill in. The roses were an...
Their manager was in college years ago, there is no way he left to go back to college. I wouldn't claim that ""Alpine's"" products are reliable. After buying Alberta Spruces last year from him they died 3 weeks after planting. Had another garden center specialist come out to the house and found out the shrubs were infested with insects. Bought Albertas from Plochs, 8 months later their thriving and they were CHEAPER.
Was there yesterday, look closely at their plants they're INFESTED with aphids, mealybug eggs, some even have diseases. They put no effort into quality. See for yourselves...
Not only have I not seen a decline at alpine, I have always had the same experience there: reliable products; great advice; reasonable products; and an owner who makes me smile! I recently sought Allen's help in purchasing azaleas (as a southerner I long for the Azales Trails). He gave me the best, most beautiful azaleas I have seen at prices that were fair and reasonable, discounted for volume! My neighbors stopped and asked for a referral, which I provided with pride and confidence that they will be treated well. The nursery recently lost a long term manager who went off to...
