Good, but definitely not the best in the area. While the menu descriptions and pricing alludes to monstrously large sandwiches, they just...aren't. I have a very long straight hair down to my waist. Needless to say, it's quite tough for anyone to cut it right because of its length and texture. The stylist at AK (Mig) was very helpful at recommending what would work best for me. He took the time to cut it right and my hair looks impeccable! I asked the stylist to cut my bangs in a certain way, which he was wasn't sure about at first but figured out a way to cut it in a way that would suit my face. Loved this cute & cozy salon ! My stylist Emiko was excellent . She definitely knows what she is doing.
Period. If you want to look fabulous without spending fortune, she will help you.

Great cut & color at a great price

I have been searching nyc for a really good salon at reasonable prices and have often been dissapointed. I saw this on citysearch and thought I'd give it a try. Got an appointment the same day and I am so impressed. Madoka was my colorist and stylist. She was lovely and did an amazing job-just what I wanted. The place is cozy and cool, a real find. I usually have to spend a fortune getting my hair done really well, but now I have finally found my perfect little salon, so no more searching. A real little gem. Male cuts $45, female $55, highlights from $80.

I feel gorgeous and I didn't even have to dip into my rent money :) Jim gave me a really sexy bob and it is growing out beautifully- I get compliments from strangers all the time and no one can believe that it's not a $200 cut! Even better than the cut is the service - I have been to Kaori as well and they each work with incredible focus and attention to detail that make you feel like you are the most important person in the room...
