I recently hired a HVAC company to come in and perform a HVAC service on our entire system and ductwork. While the HVAC guys were doing there thing, they ended up finding a few moisture leaks from my unit along with a few tears in our ductwork. Low and behold there was a raccoon chewing up my ductwork, causing humidity and other air borne particles to get into my ductwork, which in turn started a mold growing factory in my attic and in my HVAC ductwork. The HVAC company had to actually stop work so we could have the mold issue dealt with before they could come back in and finish their HVAC work. Growing up, I never had any allergies not to cats, dogs or flowers. I never so much as got the sniffles, even in winter. After we got a really bad beating from Hurricane Sandy, I suddenly started to develop some serious allergy symptoms. We had a lot of flood damage down in basement and other parts of the house but we got everything fixed early on. I really did not know what was causing me to break out in hives, cough and have difficulty breathing. I took their advice and had the mold eradicated. Now all I can say is thank you so much for the wonderful job done and my spanking new dehumidifier.
My neighbors had a roofing company come reroof their house cause it was leaking in the livin room and they had come by my house to tell me that my roof was all messed up. We all went out there together to take a look at the roof tiles and framing and the roof was really messed up in a couple of places. I ended up hiring the guy to take off my whole roof and put new plywood and roof tiles on there. When he was takin off the plywood he saw that a lot of the water had crept in through one of the holes in the roof. It caused mold to grow between my fireplace and my livin room wall.
