A melange of Japanese and Korean items with a selection of sushi in the East Village.

Hands-on dining is encouraged with meat entrees that you grill yourself, as well as Korean dishes mixing with the Japanese fare.

If you mention Japanese barbecue in NYC, most people flock to Gyu-Kaku.,,,,,for a more authentic ambiance, I recommend trying Yakiniku West in the East Village. Japanese barbecue in general is always great option for groups to have a good time or for an intimate date night.y.

Been coming to this place since 1998 when the hostess use to be mamasan. Came here tonight with the boys cause we didn't want to think and it was our go to spot. Went in at 7pm on a Monday and sampled Yakiniku's ribeye/shortrib selection (bone-in, prime, fingers and short).
