What the community has to say about Wortham Center

Information about this business (1)

A celebrated arts venue that draws flocks of well-dressed patrons to a variety of opera, dance, music and theatrical events.

Park underground on the ORANGE level. There is an underground tunnel directly into the theater lobby. Then you don't have to worry about the weather.

Wortham and the theatre district is great

Take in a play. Spend the day in some other land, with kings, paupers, or the many other things that the imagination can conjure through the theatre.

Go see the Nutcracker

Beautiful experience. We were able to purchase items after the show and take pictures with the cast members. Can't wait to go again.

Another fine performance by the Houston Ballet

We lived in Houston during the 1990s and were regulars at the Ballet and Opera...when we returned to Texas (Dallas) we continued to be season subscribers to the opera and the ballet. Although it's a bit of a hike (240 miles) to Houston, we find that the weekend break is truly worthwhile.
We enjoy both the ballet and the opera...

I'm running out of superlatives to describe the theatres in Houston; they are all simply marvelous...the performances, the acoustics, the seating, you are transformed into another world with each one. If I could arrange my return trips just to see a show each time, I would!!

Business description (3)

If you are driving by downtown Houston, this magnificent theater will surely catch your eye. It is the stately home to both the Houston Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera. The impressive stage and interior are worth a tour even if you do not have a chance to take in a show. The Nutcracker, produced by the Houston Ballet, is the most popular annual arts show in the city. If opera is your cup of...
