Even as cities re-open select businesses, some restaurants may remain temporarily closed due to COVID-19. In some cases, dine-in, takeout or delivery may be available. Be sure to contact the restaurant to find out its operational status.Wood...

Owners Rich and Rebekah Wood are veterans of the Bay Area restaurant scene (they were the owners of San Francisco’s Frascati) and they seem to know what works: a warm, inviting room with picture windows overlooking the College Avenue hubbub, an open kitchen and a simple menu of well-executed dishes. Though chef Max DiMare’s menu changes frequently, bright, seasonal salads, such as asparagus...

Expect a warm welcome and a lively atmosphere at this longtime Rockridge favorite, a neighborhood gem with superb food and refined service. Classic American fare includes standouts like the pork-belly appetizer, anything marrow, perfect day boat scallops, and one of the best burgers around. For dessert the house-made Nutella–chocolate chip ice cream knocks it out of the park. It's wise to...

This lively Rockridge joint lures customers with fresh and inventive Californian cuisine, stylish decor and an extensive drink menu.

In Short
High ceilings, bold colored walls and a prominent bar give this restaurant a casually trendy atmosphere. Lunch and dinner draw a crowd of primarily East Bay locals in search of a...

I have been to this restaurant a number of times, and, as always, the food was spectacular. Started with a glass of red wine. Since I was not familiar with what they had to offer by the glass, I asked for a sample, as did my dining companion. They were happy to bring a tasting, and it was a very generous sampling. Next came the salad, which was golden beets, arugula and toasted pine nuts....

We always have a great time when we dine at Wood Tavern. First of all, it is a fun place to be; there is a great vibe to the place. Second, the food is delicious, fresh, perfectly prepared and plentiful. Third, the staff is terrific: friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. And finally, the cocktails are fabulous especially the Badass Sidecar (nice wine list, too). Wood Tavern is...

Wood Tavern, a contemporary, rustic neighborhood restaurant serving an American brasserie experience in Oakland s Rockridge district.

Upscale casual, the stripped-down decor at this restaurant means bare wood support beams, light wood floors, and large windows to maximize natural lighting. Regional dishes are unpretentious and feature the likes of Alasakan black cod, grilled flat iron steak, and "Wicked Good" seafood stew. Reservations are required often far in advance.

Wood Tavern is nestled into a charming neighborhood shopping district on bustling College Avenue. Serving a hearty American Brasserie style menu. The contemporary loft- like space houses a dining room filled with "butcher block' tables, a comfy, copper topped bar and a chef's counter where you can dine watching the chef in action.

Located in the heart of the chic Rockridge area, Wood Tavern is arguably one of Oakland's favorite restaurants. Saying that they have pretty good dishes is like suggesting that Michael Jordan had a better than average jump-shot. The menu changes frequently but might include dishes like seared duck breast and freshly made pastas. While the restaurant tends to crowd up, especially during peak...
