Nice spot with very tasty food. Whilst every dish was good, I can't ignore the fact that the cooking seemed a little dated, in an American Psycho type of way. Service was professional but somewhat insincere. Wine list is really good but expensive by the glass. Good but not amazing.

Blackbird:. Minimalist in design with a nice play between steel, wood and glass in this intimate restaurant. Having a Michelin star and winning many a James Beard Foundation awards does not make a cheap meal this is why I suggest the prix fixe lunch menu and this week the Restaurant Week menu for $22.

The service was okay, we found the presentation of the food lovely and the food was decent, but we didn't really get value for money for the $25 prix fixe lunch considering the small portion sizes. As out of towners, we had some issues locating the restaurant since it was further away from the Loop and there's no bus service there - so we walked in the freezing cold.

Blackbird brings the best out of people as soon as they walk in. The sleek set up of the restaurant and the all-around atmosphere is matched only by its menu - especially the dessert menu put together by Pastry Chef Dana Cree.

When it deals with taking my kids there I have a great experience. Short wait times, good docs, etc. when it deals with myself going my average wait time is 60 to 90 minutes... Kind of makes me not ever want to go there.
