I was recomednded to take my little maltese here to be spayed. I called last week and was told what the cost would be. I was told to be there at 8am. I was there at 8am and did not open the door until 3 mintues after Did not get a good morning or anything the girl said fill out the form after filling out the form I was now told I had to pay more money for the IV and fluids and kept smirking oh look more money. The money is not the issue should be told up front prior to going.
As far as I am concerned they have terrible customer service and seems to me only interested in the bottom line...

We have Dr Petcu taking care of our pets for almost 10 years. There are no words to describe in how many instances he made them feel confortable. We are treated with respect and decency any time we see him.This last year because he is so busy, we started to see Dr Lent at Western Animal Hospital. Dr Lent is very pleasant and professional . Staff is very supportive and helpful. We can only reccomend this animal hospital to everyone that needs help with their pets .. (Edited September 28, 2011)
I have never paid more for a puppy then I have in the past 3-4months with my puppy Pandora. I did extensive research on Animal Hosptials in the area of Glendale and Peoria, and I upon my first visit was impressed with the service that I received. I have done everything the a responsible pet owner would do for the animal they love, as she is like my child. With the last 3 visits I have never been more upset with the services or expenses I have recieved from this vets office. For a basic set of shots(standard puppy vaccine), heart worm and flea and tick pervent cost me $210.00. Now, in order to have my puppy spade because she is a large breed great dane that tend to have blood disorders (I being the responsible owner) knowing that this needed to be drawn asked to have her drawn. I recieved a call just this evening from the vets office whom said it would take 3 days for results to tell me my dog was sick and that to redraw specific labs would cost over $250 dollars and that they wanted to go ahead and begin treating her with antibiotics that we weren't she needs??? PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!!!!! THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF. Please from one pet owner to the next DO NOT, PLEASE take your pet here.
The expenses that I have spent over the past 3 months have totaled 700.00 in three months. PLEASE do not go here!!!!!!!!
As for your information: Pandora is a healthy puppy. By the way the lab work that was completed was per "our" (My fiance' and I request). Had we never said anything you would have never done it anyway. So Dr Petcu, where did you get off telling me that it is "mother nature". Thank god I was smart enough to request the labs! You were trying to spade a 4 month old great dane. Did you know, that great danes aren't supposed to be spade till they are 6-8 months? Shame on you for trying to make yourself look/feel better and for taking advantage of lay people.

I had the misfortune to have our family pet get sick and we took our pet to see Dr. Petcu. At first Dr. Petcu was nice, however to our shock, Dr. Petcu became rude after we questioned him about our bill. He had given our pet 1 shot as we were in the room the entire time and we held our pet when the shot was given. However when we looked over the bill, we saw that the invoice had several shots listed as well as our pet was given additional pill medication (which also never occurred). Dr. Petcu (if you can call him that), raised his voice and started to yell and insult us, which made our child cry. It was a nightmare for our family and something that I hope nobody will ever have to go through.
STAY AWAY FOR THIS JERK

Thank you Western animal hospital for being open on Labor Day. For anyone reading this, they are a small intimate non-corporate veterinarians office on the corner of 51st Ave. and Northern. They've taken good care of metro.
Dr. Keim is amazing! She has been my trusted vet for many years. Western Animal Hospital is so lucky to have her.
