Located just next to Balboa Park and Zoo, and at a 15-minute walking distance to Gaslamp Quarter. When we went it was under renovation and had changed its name to Quality Inn. This hotel is now called Quality Inn and is part of the Choice Hotels group. Clearly this is a budget hotel and you can get a pretty good price, but in my opinion that was it.

Staying just the night in this wonderful city, the hotel in under the main flight path into the airport so you can fiercer yourself back just looking at the planes, sort of handy.
