A $35 charge for a measly $1.29 is legal loan-sharking, considering if you do the math, that's a little over 2300% interest. Ok, so you got the fee back and your still bad mouthing them? Besides, you won't find a bank or credit union that doesn't have overdraft fees.

You would be assessed an overdraft fee $35. The AMOUNT that the account is overdrawn is irrelevant.
I hope you watch your finances closely. You indicated that this was a one time courtesy on their part. I can assure you with some confidence that if your account should again become overdrawn, even 1 cent, they will charge you...

You overdrafted your account and you are upset at them?
Most banks(and it appears that US Bank did this for you) will remove one overdraft fee. Some do this automatically, others you have to ask.
There are a couple of ways to avoid this "Ripoff". The first is the most obvious way by keeping an accurate check register, and knowing your "posted" balance.

You did overdraw your account and US Bank was upfront in showing what the overdraft fee would be. I have two accounts at US Bank and both times I received the welcome packet with the schedule of fees.
If you overdraw by a nickel you are overdrawn and will be charged the fee. US Bank is not the only one who charges overdraft fees. The tone of your post suggests that you don't think you did...
