Excellent environment, thats about it. . .

29 is defiantly a fun place to bring both your friends and family to have a good time and listen to some great live bands and DJ’s. That being said, this unfortunately diminishes the more often you go there. I have been a regular of this establishment since 2003 in which I have regrettably gotten to personally know the staff including the general manager. A friend of mine started bartending at 29 back in those days so it became a place that was comfortable for me along with a few dozen of my friends that soon followed in my same fondness for 29. I have had my own negative opinions of this place due to the way it is so unprofessionally managed by the general manager. Tonight was the last straw, my voice will be heard! I have dealt with her unprofessionalism for too long and I am going to state the follow as my side of the incidences that occurred tonight. A friend and I were having a cigarette outside when the GM also came out there and I noticed her pointing at me and heard her say I hate him to her friends, I responded with what is your problem “her name” in which she started to say something but her friends immediately covered her mouth. This defiantly bothered me but my friend and I went back inside and continued our night. The GM came back in and sat at the bar for the rest of the night and while talking to my random friends I would catch glimpses of her staring at me. I told some friends about her actions and on our way out a fire fighter friend of mine proceeded to tell her that I am a nice guy and tried to resolve the situation, she responded with something along the lines of I’m 28 years old and I don’t want to hear this high school “I didn’t really hear the last part”. While she was talking to my friend I walked up and asked her if I could talk to her which she did not like and motioned for the bouncers which I have known since high school to escort my friends and I out. I am completely dumbfounded by what happened tonight and wish everyone the best when going to 29 as it is really a great environment but horribly managed with the occasional long waits on orders but no worse than anywhere else in downtown Naperville, please keep in mind the above is only a tenth of the shenanigans that I have seen occur there most of which didn’t concern me, if only the owners were a little more involved maybe these incidences wouldn’t happen as well as their customers diminishing rapidly as they have been.

I'd compare the courtesy level of the staff/ management here to a hippopotamus, that is to day they're incredibly rude. They're also as stubborn as a mule, digging in to their position when they...

Situated above Potter's Place restaurant, Two-Nine is the quintessential downtown martini bar. The décor is sleek and stylish with some unusual touches (look up at the ceiling), a great patio with its own separate bar, and either a DJ or a band providing the tunes. Drink of choice here is the martini, but the list of options is impressive so don't feel like you have to stick with the...
