Here in a little strip mall across from Ft. Sheridan, is a gem of a place. Owned and operated by Giacomo, a fiery, passionate Italian who producces the best Italian food in this area.
It is just on the northern outskirts of Highwood, on the way to Lake Forest, easy to miss, so watch carefully.

Giacomo usually greets guests and explains the evening's "specials". The good is great and the service like dining at a friends home. Small but very good wine selection.

In short: Avoid at all costs! After making a reservation for 7 people at 7:00 pm on a Saturday, and later calling to confirm it, we arrived and were told that the restaurant had no reservation for us, but could sit us in 15 minutes. We sat at the bar for 40 minutes and nobody was available to take our drink order. After we sat down at the table, the owner attempted to charm us and we decided to make the best of what was a frustrating experience. It quickly turned from frustrating to insulting.
