The Jacal family has owned, managed and staffed this Solana Beach Mexican eatery since 1946. The setting is festive, especially the garden patio with its gurgling fountain and twinkle lights; the margaritas are consistently tasty; and the food might be prepared with a twist, with several dishes made with turkey instead of chicken. I've watched Tony's Jacal grow from a small one room cantina to a bustling restaurant without sacrificing quality. As authentic as it gets, this is my favorite place to eat. Great burritos and turkey tacos....it's all yummy!
The food is so so yummy! It's a bit expensive for Mexican food, but the crab quesadillas and turkey flautas are really good.
Tony's is excellent core Mexican food served in a family environment. The chips and salsa are addicting. The menu is very extensive and one of my favorites is the turkey tacos with a side of rice, the pot of beans and cabbage salad.The service is outstanding, and it is amazing how fast the food is a your table. enormous options! I like the flavors and the sharp taste of the food in here, the fusion really did them some good because they have the best of both worlds.
Down the street from where I work on occasion, I went here after being told another place nearby was better. HOWEVER, I didn't regret my decision to try it. Fantastic service, salsa is amazing, the birds on the property are really cool, nice outdoor patio, quiet neighborhood, and awesome food. GO and you won't regret it.
