Help us make it rightA cozy, subterranean café on picturesque Bond Street in Downtown Manhattan. Located in a landmark 1830s Federal-style townhouse, the café is firmly rooted in the local community and serves as a clubhouse of sorts serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
This semi-subterranean, mixed-use cafe exudes a deliberate warm and cozy feel, adorned with stone walls, weathered wooden floors and three fireplaces. The Smile offers a simple, casual menu that features a variety of croissants, salads and sandwiches which are perfect if you wish to have a bite while you relax and enjoy a cup of the cafe's excellent coffee. A section of the café is set up as a...
healthy takeout food
"Hipsters abound" at this "sweet" little NoHo nook (and its SoHo take-out satellite) that flies a bit under the radar with its "charming", "rustic" basement locale and "basic" Med bites; by day, it's an "ideal" stop for coffee, and if the staff can be "spacey", at least they "always smile."
Subterranean and almost hidden, the Smile will turn your frown upside down if you like hipsters, celebrities, and, most especially, hipster celebrities. Lounge among the fashionably conscious clientele (who are trying oh so hard to not look that way) and munch on breakfast-y items (breakfast is served until 4:30 pm) like chunky granola, giant sandwiches, or spaghetti with heirloom tomato sauce....
About as cozy as sceney gets. Basement space decked out with café chairs, weathered wood planks, exposed brick. Earnest Sewn bloodlines visible in rustic/industrial look, light mercantile offerings. Afternoons good for blathering away about latest pop-up gallery concept over a Plowshares cappuccino. Stick around for Nouveau American entrées: Moroccan lamb meatballs, parchment-baked cod, roast...
This rustic Noho nook takes multi-purpose to the next level. The 2,200-square-foot bi-level space offers guests the chance to drink (alcohol or espresso), nibble on sandwiches (from the eclectic...
What an underwhelming experience. I think you also expect at least smile when your brand is ‘smile’.
Food not any good and the coffee was ok that was the only mere highlight.
Don’t waste your time.
VERY COOL eatery/bar. We had brunch. Healthy eating for the most part. Friendly and attentive staying
Staff, hard to find, so look closely on down to the door.
Remarkably UNREMARKABLE! McDonald's makes a better egg, cheese, and ham on an English Muffin. I felt rooked and not worth the cab there or back. ALSO, NO REAL AIR CONDITIONING!
WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED AND UNCOMFORTABLE.
It's NYC, it's individual, its style by me! Love this restaurant for breakfast/brunch. Vintage, European, romantic, cosy, friendly and food taste great. :)
Such a lovely little place that is absolutely perfect for brunch. I had the salmon and it was divine. The greens are so good!! Really cute decor and excellent service. Sat in the window seat which was even more lovely. Would definitely recommend and will...
Tucked away in a landmarked 1830s townhouse on picturesque Bond Street, The Smile is the perfect setting for delicious food in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The Smile's American/Mediterranean menu is seasonally focused and designed by executive chef and former art world caterer, Melia Marden. While popular with the lunch and coffee crowd, "the dimly lit, wood-ceilinged space feels even more...
