Help us make it rightCraig Weiss, entrepreneur, visionary and owner of the five room beer and wine bars loves cities, city dwellers and nightlife. He wanted to give them all an intimate room where they could share an atmosphere shaped by his passions: independent music, art, handcrafted beer and boutique wines form around the world. City denizens in three states now have their own room to hang out and live.
With its enormous, gaping windows to let in the ocean breeze, this neighborhood bar lounge is a popular Abbot Kinney spot to sip wine, down beers and mingle with the locals.
umm, specialty, not so much, but nice and dark
I've seen you in the video...
I've heard that if you show your local ID you get priority here to get in the door. The Other Room has a New York feel to it and yet the ocean breezes that blow through on sunny afternoons are very uniquely Californian.
Pros
+ Quality beer list
Cons
- Can be too crowded on weekends
I have been there quite a few times and always enjoyed the vibe. We went there on an early evening after walking along Abbot Kinney. We were stopped at the door and asked to produce our ID. I am old enough to be his father. (over 50). We took our business elsewhere.
I absolutely love this place! When i get sick of the frat boys in the southbay i drive a little farther north to Vencie to this bar. There are always cute, smart boys as opposed to the airheaded surfers of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa. I only wish they had cocktails (they only serve beer and wine), but their wine and beer selection is great. Go during the middle of the week when its just crowded enough and then head to La Cabana down the street on Rose for some late night yummy Mexican food (its the best! and they close at 3am)....
This place offers up a relaxed location in which to enjoy independent music, art, hand crafted beer and wines from around the world. It opened its doors in 2005 and caters to private parties if required.
The Otheroom is straight from the imagination of founder Craig Weiss. Weiss, who has sister establishments in Miami and New York City, envisioned a versatile place in Venice where people could see art shows, listen to live music and enjoy handcrafted beers from around the world. The Otheroom offers a large dance floor, along with a massive lounge area and bar area that can be rented out or act...
Many people here come with their dogs so if you don't like animals, consider going elsewhere.
