The Larchmont Restaurant Review

The phrase "Mi casa es su casa" ("My house is your house") is apropos at The Larchmont, a project from restaurateurs Spoon Singh (Venice Ale House) and Matthew Cape (Vinolio). Dining in this two-story craftsman-style cottage really does feel like visiting someone's house for dinner. The overhauled space (formerly Larchmont Grill) is clean and simple, with white walls, a white fireplace and...

Sometimes you can't make it to the beach. Get close enough at this trendy beach bungalow-inspired restaurant inside a two-storey, American Craftsman-style home. You feel like you're at a chilled out dinner party, only your friends are thankfully not in the kitchen. Executive chef Cody Diegel (Magnolia, Caulfield's) and consulting chef Don Gragg (NYC's Gramercy Tavern) are cooking some serious...

Housed in a classic Craftsman cottage, this homey restaurant serves a sophisticated brand of comfort cuisine.

Larchmont Grill Restaurant Review: An unexpected neighborhood gem, Larchmont Grill occupies a lovingly restored Craftsman home. The cozy, inviting atmosphere is reinforced with candle-lit linen-clad tables and a prominent brick fireplace, while another art-filled room lies upstairs. Both levels offer delightful verandas for good weather. On the menu, American comfort cuisine is gently enhanced...

This cozy neighborhood bistro offers seasonal Pan-American cuisine, an interesting wine list and warm charm.

Nestled in an old house, sweeping front porch and all, this comfortable neighborhood nook was actually once called The House, when it was run by Chef Scooter Kanfer. In 2007, a pair of longtime...

Our server was very sweet and had good recommendations on the menu. He was attentive without being annoying. The entree's were good, but nothing special (excpet for the arugula side salad - amazing dressing). The desserts, however, were so good!

The Larchmont was disappointing. It was definitely over hyped. The dishes are very uninteresting, not of a high quality and not overly tasty. Everything was good, but I expected great based on the location and the hype.

Casual Dining

Typical of a fine dining restaurant, the Larchmont serves up an impressive American menu, that is sure to please everyone's palette. Minimal decor and a sober ambiance, make this place perfect for a quite meal with family or friends. Bucatini with Basil Pesto, Duck rillette with grilled bread and Pan seared California King Salmon are some of the most exotic preparations on their menu. A good...

It's "not fancy or exotic", but this Hollywood grill turns out "classic" American fare that's "sensational" nonetheless in a "charming" Craftsman setting that "feels like you're dining in a friend's home"; "gracious" service, midrange tabs and a "relaxing" atmosphere mean most "never have a bad meal here"; P.S. Tuesday's half-price wine night and Sunday's prix fixe special add value

Tips about this business (3)

When to Go

Various theme nights throughout the week offer dining deals such as Tuesday's half-price wine night, Wednesday's burger night and Sunday's family prix-fixe dinner.

What to Drink

The wine list is impressive for a small place; selections include many from California but also Italian Proseccos, New Zealand Sauv Blancs and Spanish Albarinos. A small amount of beer is available as well, including Stella and Chimay.

Parking

There are a handful of spaces available in the small lot in front of the restaurant. Otherwise, you'll need to search for street parking. Be sure to note all neighborhood restrictions--there are a lot of time limits and meters around.
